As we sit here in a cold, wet Lyme Regis the corner of our screens are fixed on the Redbull Live coverage of the ‘STRATOS’. For those of you that have not yet seen, or heard, a crazy French man called FELIX BAUMGARTNER is attempting the highest ever freefall parachute jump. Here’s some of the stats from this epic record breaking attempt:

Take off location – Roswell USA

Climb Time -1000ft/Second

Max Altitude – 120,000ft

Climb time – 3 hrs

Descent time – 5 mins 35 secs

There’s no surf clothing for this epic french dude either. He is wearing a specially designed space suit that allows him to endure the extreme lack of oxygen. He’ll be entering the troposphere after 40 seconds at which time he hopes to be breaking the speed of sound. It is thought that he might be able to reach supersonic speeds before entering the stratosphere which then will act as a brake and slowly decrease his speed.
