Recently at Boylos, we decided to start stocking a new brand of paddle board from watersports company Fanatic. Founded in 1981, Fanatic has three decades of experience, innovation and design under it's belt and so far we are super impressed! Read this blog to find out why!

Recently at Boylos, we decided to start stocking a new brand of paddle board from watersports company Fanatic. Founded in 1981, Fanatic has three decades of experience, innovation and design under it's belt and so far we are super impressed! We made the decision to branch out to another brand as we appreciate that Red Paddle Co, while fantastic boards, aren’t in everyone's price range. So, we set out to find a board that wasn’t just great quality but was also affordable. After much research we found Fanatic!

The board we have chosen from Fanatic is the Fly Air SUP. Available in 9’8, 10’4 and 10’8 this inflatable board is a cracking all rounder. Ideal for beginners getting to grips with SUPing and for the more advanced who love to cruise, it’s super versatile with a great construction-but more on that later. We use these boards for our SUP lessons through the summer, so can testify to their durability!

The Fly Air is designed to be super stable but can perform in everything from flat water to small waves. It’s also a fantastic answer to limited storage with its pack away ability. Fitting into a nifty bag with all the rest of the kit, you can throw this bag into your boot hassle free! It’s 8 minute pump up turn around is also an ideal selling point for this board.

Fanatic’s single layer Drop-Stitch Light technology provides a lightweight and quality construction. This inflatable technology is created with top quality materials and production standards you’d expect from Fanatic. Below is a guide to it's construction.

5 V-Drop Stitch core

The second PVC rail layer is what you’re looking for in any good quality SUP. Without double lining, inflatable SUPs are likely to bend in the middle, creating a banana effect-the last thing you want when you’re out on the water. That is why with any SUP we stock we make sure it has a double PVC layer, ensuring quality and durability.

So what do you get? Included in our package is the board, pump, nylon/carbon paddle, bag, repair kit, leash and fin. Everything you need to get out on the water.

We weren’t just impressed by their price tag and quality however, Fanatic are striving towards being as ‘green’ as possible. This is hugely important to us as a small watersports business as you may have read in our commitment to sustainability. We want to make sure as many of our brands as possible are dedicated to protecting what we love.

Fanatic have also started working with several environmentally driven projects including Zero Emissions, Plastic Patrol, Pure Water For Generations and Stand Up For Safe Water.
